Hooson & Co was formed in 1950 by Evan Hooson and immediately became a specialist in farming accounts. The practice was taken over by Colin Almond in 1976. Colin continued to develop the practice to encompass a wide range of services backed up by a team of dedicated staff. The practice acquired a diverse range of clients ranging from private individuals requiring occasional tax advice to large multi-million pound business require a number of services - sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, clubs and charities. The majority of the clients are based in North Wales though some are based much further a field. Business clients cover a huge range of disciplines including farmers, builders, hauliers, retailers, service industries, and professionals. On 1st September 2006 Colin retired from the practice, which was taken over by Harold Smith, what is perhaps the largest practice in North Wales. On 26 March 2007 the office in Denbigh was closed and the business and staff were transferred to Harold Smith’s head office in St Asaph.
